How to Enrol |
|
Enrolment on all fast track and Level 2/3 courses will be subject to interview and assessment, including literacy and language at an appropriate level, with these dates available from the centres concerned. |
IT
You can choose a course that suits your needs, whether you wish to achieve an international qualification in using IT or want to gain specific skills in using a computer. Accreditation is available through OCR and the British Computer Society. The length of courses varies from one to three terms.
By attending class twice a week or all day including Saturdays, the fast track courses enable learners to achieve a full qualification in a shorter period of time:
The OCR Entry Level Certificate in Using ICT (Entry 3) course provides learners with the opportunity to achieve a first qualification in 1 or 2 terms and swiftly progress onto other higher level ICT courses
The CLAiT Award/Cert Level 1 (ITQ) and CLAiT Plus Award/Cert Level 2 (ITQ) are new courses this year and completion of 4 units at each level provides learners with a full Level 1 or Level 2 qualification.
The new BCS ECDL Extra course is offered over 3 terms or as a fast track course. The fast track courses offer several options of attendance and are aimed at learners with good IT skills who would like these skills accredited as a full Level 2.
We are also offering an intensive BCS ECDL Advanced course at the Linwood Centre which is a Level 3 qualification.

Business Studies
We are continuing to develop our vocational programme to support learners who wish to enter this area of work, retrain, or gain accreditation for the skills they already have.
In the Office Skills area we are offering the new OCR Administration (Business Professional) Level 1 Award over 2 or 3 terms and also Word Processing for the Office at Level 1. These courses complement each other and it would be of benefit for learners to achieve both qualifications.
In the area of Finance we are offering Manual Accounts at Level 1 and Computerised Accounts (using Sage software) at Level 1 and 2.
For people hoping to start their own business we have Saturday courses throughout the year in Start your own Business or Tax and VAT for Small Businesses.
