We offer a variety of courses in education, advice, support and volunteering to meet a wide range of interests.
For those wanting to work in teaching and assessing in the further and adult education sector we offer the first stage course leading to the Diploma in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector and the Assessor Award.
If you would like to work in education or the work place in a support role we provide courses to help you learn the skills you need. The Award for Supporting Teaching is for people who want to work in schools and colleges supporting teaching and learning and the Certificate in Work Based Support and Mentoring gives you the opportunity to develop the skills and understanding you require to mentor a colleague in learning or the work place.
If you are interested in working in the voluntary sector then the Certificate in Volunteering will help you to develop the skills and good practice needed to effectively participate in different voluntary activities.
The Certificate in Advice Work course, which takes place at Highfields Community Centre in partnership with the University of Leicester, helps learners to develop knowledge and key skills such as listening, questioning and interviewing. It also gives an insight into relevant legislation and prepares you to provide advice to members of the public as Advice Workers.
All learners will be invited to have an initial assessment of their English and Maths skills and guidance will be given about opportunities to develop your skills and gain accreditation.
