We are pleased to be able to offer a wide range of courses at different levels and at different settings throughout Leicester.
Whether you are seeking to learn or improve languages spoken in the community, languages for work and holidays or languages that can enhance other learning, we hope to accommodate your language-learning aspirations.
Levels
We offer ‘Get By In’ courses, which focus on spoken words and phrases rather than written work – perfect for anyone wanting to pick up enough of a language to ‘get by’, concentrating mostly on their accent and choice phrases.
Entry level courses are also for beginners, a good introduction to a new language, using a variety of fun activities to help learners master the basics of a new language. There will be some reading and writing, appropriate to a beginners’ course. At all levels, the amount of written work will be less in those languages using other than European script.
Level One courses will help you to use the language to talk about simple, everyday things. Learners will enjoy this level if they have already learned the basics.
Level Two is more advanced – in these groups, learners will acquire enough of the language to be able to deal with most situations encountered on a visit or holiday abroad. GCSE is at Level Two.
Level Three is the level at which you will learn to be able to comfortably hold conversations on a variety of topics.
Level Four is the level at which you can expect to become fluent, using the language competently in almost any situation.
