IT'S NEVER TOO LATE
For those who thought is was too late to sign up for a course this term, there are plenty of opportunities to do something before the summer break as Leicester Adult Education College have a number of one day courses with places available.
On Saturday 19th June there is a Pottery Taster course aimed at those who have always wanted to try pottery but never had the time to get round to it. No previous experience is needed to join this course which will show you the basics and help you produce something to be proud of before you go home.
Also on that day is a course entitled Venice – the history of a city. This course aims to give an insight to one of the most beautiful cities in the world with its buildings, walkways, squares, canals, gondoliers and much, much more. Find out some of the secrets of the city and plan what to see on your next visit.
The 19th June also offers a Spanish Experience which is a one day event aimed at giving you a real flavour of Latin American and the European Spanish culture and language. An exciting, fast moving but highly informative and enjoyable day for anyone interested in Spain, the language or the culture.
Saturday 26th June offers two arts and crafts courses for those who prefer to be creative in their free time. Appliqué – Bags and Cushions is a one day workshop. Using fabric of your own choice, you will make and design either a unique hand tied hobo bag or an exclusive cushion. Using a variety of additional fabrics and a sewing machine to appliqué on to your chosen fabric will enable you create your own individually designed bag or cushion.
On the same day Jewellery – Make a Bangle or Cuff offers the opportunity to make a bangle (in silver or copper) or a cuff (in copper or brass) using simple jewellery making techniques. This day course is suitable for beginners and those with some skills and will teach you how to design and make your own unique simply decorated bangle or cuff during the day.
