 How to Enrol

Enrolment on the NPLQ is subject to learners passing a swim test. Please contact the appropriate centre for further information and to book a swim test.

In partnership with the City Wide Achievement Project we offer a wide range of sports based courses with direct links to employment including:

National Pool Lifeguarding Qualification (RLSS  NPLQ Level 2).
The NPLQ is nationally recognised as the industry standard and is widely accepted by employers across the U.K. and in some cases abroad. 

The Award in Community Sports Leadership (SLUK Level 2) and Higher Award in Sports Leadership (SLUK Level 3). These awards will give you the skills, knowledge and experiences you need to become a better sports leader.

We also offer a number of Level 1 Governing Body Coaching Qualifications including:

ASA/UKCC Certificate in Teaching Aquatics
This qualification may enable you to secure paid or voluntary work as a support teacher.  

ASA/UKCC Teaching Swimming to Disabled People 
This short course is for people who are interested in helping people with special needs learn to swim.

Basketball Coaching (EBBA)
This course will enable you to assist Lead Coaches to deliver aspects  of basketball coaching sessions.

Badminton (UKCC) Certificate in Coaching
This course qualifies you as a assistant coach allowing you to work alongside a more qualified coach, working with players in their early stages of development.
