Like any other adult education provider, Remit offers a range of courses every week, most of which last for two hours. We also offer a range of optional qualifications.

There are some things that make our courses a bit different –
  • Flexible starting dates – If there is a space, people can join most courses at any time in the academic year (September to July). This can be important if you have to ‘drop out’ for any reason – you can come back when you are ready.
  • Work at your own pace – because people can join throughout the year, everyone works at their own level, and moves on at their own pace.
  • Smaller class sizes – Most REMIT groups have between 6-10 learners.
  • Support – Many classes have support workers as well as tutors, to help learners take part in the session.
  • Free courses – All REMIT courses are free.
  • Day time courses – REMIT courses usually run between 9.30am - 5pm on weekdays.

Emphasis on education – we are part of education, not health, services. This helps people see themselves as ‘learners’ not ‘patients’, and creates a positive atmosphere for learning.
